His talk will be on the “Future of Food” and the intersection of food, politics, environment and personal health. He will be discussing “non-foods, like soda, and their impact, as well as how policy pushes food, like wheat, meat and dairy, that may be in no one’s best interests.”
Bittman is best known for his work with Cook’s Illustrated and the New York Times and is the author of more than a dozen cookbooks including How to Cook Everything, How to Cook Everything Vegetarian, How to Cook Everything The Basics, Food Matters, Kitchen Express, The Best Recipes in the World, Cooking Solves Everything, The Minimalist Cooks Dinner, The Minimalist Cooks at Home and The Minimalist Entertains. Many years ago I was given Mark’s cookbook, ‘How to Cook Everything’.
I find it is one of the cookbooks to which I regularly refer and I have always
been pleased as to how simple and delicious the recipes have been. He does a great job of explaining ‘how to’, which I appreciate. I even referred to his book to see how he recommended to boil eggs, and I now use it every time.
I have followed his career over the years and I’d love to be able to attend the lecture, as I know I will learn a lot.
