As we slowly make our way toward the first day of summer I want to transition away from red wines and sip white wines while sitting out on the patio. Let’s hope that we start to see a lot more sun very soon to pair with these delicious white wines.
William Church Winery – 2010 Viognier – $22
Our flagship Viognier has gained a reputation for its intense aromatics, rich flavors and incredible balance. We have sourced our Viognier from Conner Lee Vineyard since the beginning and last year this wine received 90 points and was rated one of the top 100 in the state. The 2010 Viognier starts with beautiful floral aromas of tangerine, pineapple, citrus blossom and honeysuckle. What follows is a beautifully flavored wine that retains its freshness and liveliness to the end. Serve with gourmet cheeses, seafood or your favorite spicy Asian dish (292 cases)
Double Gold from Seattle Wine Awards
Barrage Cellars – 2010 Riesling – $18
The aromas of this Riesling will tantalize you with sweet floral and citrus. The wine has 2.4% residual sugar but with great acid structure that balances the wine out nicely. Flavors of apricot, peach and citrus to start followed by a mouth watering tart finish is great for those nice warm summer days or to compliment a spicy dish or anything with citrus. (305 cases)
Double Gold from Seattle Wine Awards
Efeste – 2010 Feral Sauvignon Blanc – $18
There are wonderful citrus and mineral notes to this wine with an underlying grass tone. It finishes with lovely citrus and slate notes and a breath of flowers and apples, which heighten the aromas. This Sauvignon Blanc is gracious, with acid and focus but doesn’t lack in length or body.
